Maaike Eline Harmsen (MA, PhD Candidate) is a Dutch professional in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, business ethics and cross cultural communications.
She worked in Amsterdam for Shell International as an internal- external advisor before she moved to the jungle of West Papua, Indonesia, where she taught and trained (in Indonesian) cross cultural communications, English and other topics for a local NGO. After Papua she studied more business philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, and taught and trained ethics and business philosophy, engaging in governance through board membership of a educational organisation in primary education. 2010 – 2014 she worked in China, first at the center for international business ethics as a manager communications and trainer, and since 2013 she started her own company, Eline CSR. She is currently based again in the Netherlands, one hour drive from the main airport Shiphol.
Eline CSR is currently registered in the Netherlands Kamer van Koophandel Den Haag. She also has a part-time position as a PhD Candidate at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, in collaboration with the Tilburg University.
She is a member of the technical working group ‘Portfolio Carbon Initiative’ for the United Nations Environmental Program- Finance Initiative, UNEP-FI.
